The Scalzi School of Dance opened its doors in 1970 by Maria Scalzi Monahan, and is celebrating its 39th season! Maria passed the studio on to her daughter, Lisa Cavarretta, who has been teaching beside her mom for the last 30 years.The studio was built on the philosophy of developing a passion and love for the art of dance, whether a student is a 3 year old beginner or striving for a career in dance.

Students from the Scalzi School of Dance have gone on to dance professionally on Broadway, cruise lines, Busch Gardens, Disney World and many others. Our students have won many titles on both regional and national levels.

Lisa Cavaretta, the studio director, is a member of the Dance Teachers' Club of Boston and Dance Masters of America. She is on the distinguished panel of judges for Dance Ovations and United States Tournament of Dance Competitions. She teaches master classes and judges extensively throughtout the U.S. and Canada. All of our faculty have been trained extensively in the form of dance that they teach, and continue their dance education striving to give our students the best technique and styles that are up to date.

The studio has earned the reputation of being "Family Oriented." We pride ourselves in encouraging our students to be the best that they can be. Each of our students is given the opportunity to learn and grow as a dancer, in a positive environment, making it easy for them to reach for the stars and follow their dreams! We strive to make your child's experience in dance a wonderful one, whether they choose it to be a recreational outlet or a life-long passion, we are here to make it special!
